HOTN: June 1

HotN:
The Nomads beat the Kraken 11-5 in a game that wasn't as close as the score shows as the Kraken scored 3 runs in the top of the 9th in mopup time. Johnny Cueto pitched 8 solid for the Nomads, giving up 6 hits (0 walks) and 2 runs. The Nomads 1-3 batters (Merrifield, Goldschmidt, and Suarez) were especially efficient going a combined 9-14 with 6 runs scored and 3 RBI. Stanton hit a grand slam (see why you don't pitch hit for him?) as part of an 8th run 1st inning.

Honorable Mention #1:
Mike Trout continues to be amazing. All he did tonight (on top of playing VG defense in CF) was go 1-2 with 2 walks and hit a go ahead 3-run HR in the Cache Hogs 5-2 win over the Asterisks. Plus he leads the league in SB with 16.

Honorable Mention #2:
Michael Saunders needed an ice bath after the Sweets/Koi matchup. Saunders had 7 putouts in LF, that's a lot of balls hit his way. CF don't normally even have that many. Not sure what was going on with the Sweets batters that they kept testing him even with the wind blowing in from LF at 9 MPH. Regardless the Sweets still won 6-5.
