Series Highlights

Along with the logjam in the KML, this set of games features the top team in the league in the early going hosting the hottest team in the league currently as Grants Pass visits Tucson.

Brewers at Thunder
In the opening game, the Thunder cough up a late two run lead when Jose Altuve hits a game tying home run in the top of the eighth.  Randy Arozarena saves the day for Tucson though with a walk off single scoring Andrew Vaughn.  Arozarena stars again in the second game, homering and driving in three as Tucson sweeps the Brewers.

Bums at Argos
After winning 13 straight, Mother Lode has lost their last five as the offense has sputtered (10 runs on a .169 average).  Pablo Lopez handcuffs the Argo bats in game one to win his 5th game and lower his ERA to 2.00.  Marcus Stroman allows a single run in six innings and actually RAISES his ERA to 0.40.  Bako takes both games and moves into 2nd place in the Frick.

Sweets at Dogs
Scurvy wins the series with a 7-1 victory in game one behind Shohei Ohtani's six strong innings and 11th home run, and a 3-2 win in game two courtesy of Daulton Varsho's walk off homer with two outs in the ninth.

Miners at Anglerfish
San Diego takes game one, 4-3, thanks to a 3 run eighth inning rally.  Phoenix splits the series, winning game two by the same 4-3 score.  Max Scherzer strikes out 12 while pitching into the seventh to lead the Miners.

Koi at Auk
Great is victorious in game one, 9-2, scoring seven runs in the seventh inning to salt the game away.  They complete the sweep in game two with a 4-2 win behind Kyle Freeland.

Landlubbers at ACL's
Ann Arbor takes a pair in Ankeny to run their win streak to SIX STRAIGHT GAMES.  Kevin Gausman wins has first game of the year, outdueling Julio Urias who loses his first game of the year as the Lubbers win the opening game, 4-1.  A 6-2 Ann Arbor victory in game two completes the sweep.  Kyle Farmer is the Lubbers hitting star, ripping a bases clearing double in game one and then going a perfect 4-4 with another RBI in game two.

Tubemen at Madmen
The teams split their series, with Motor City taking game one 7-2 and Whacky rebounding with an 8-2 win in game two.

Kraken at Garden Hammers
Brooklyn wins a one run affair in 10 innings to win game one.  Hawaiian comes back in game two to win their own one run victory, 5-4 and split the series.

Robots at Rattlers
Windy City takes both games of the series and moves into sole possession of first place in the hectic KML, one game ahead of five teams.  There is not one standout star in the series, instead a complete team effort offensively produces 28 hits and 17 runs over the two games.

Rougarou at Sea Wolves
A shutout in game one courtesy of Santa Ana's Zac Gallen who pitches a 3 hit complete game shutout while striking out 13.  A shootout in game two goes to the visitors as Lakeview's Yordan Alvarez parks his 13th and 14th homers of the season.

I'm really going to need to have a talk with Andrew Vaughn if he's out there scoring the winning run for the OTHER team!!

Whoops!

Vaughn scored ahead of Altuve's game tying homer in the eighth.  Austin Slater scored the winning run on Arozarena's walk off an inning later.

My team is really streaky this year. Sheesh. Lost 6 of 7 and then win 6 in a row.
