Series Highlights

Sweets at Brewers
Grants Pass stays hot, sweeping a pair from Walla Walla at home. Yu Darvish throws a complete game, five hit shutout in game two leading the Brewers to a 10-0 yawner of a victory, but game one held all kinds of excitement.  Charlie Morton plunked Nick Gordon not once . . . not twice . . . but THREE times!  Not surprisingly, Gordon had had enough after the third beaning and charged the mound.  Benches and bullpens emptied, a scrum ensued in the middle of the diamond and by the time everyone was separated, Gordon had lost his jersey, Morton's was ripped half off and Morton's glove had been thrown into the stands.  Both were sent to early showers and straight to bed without desert.  Meanwhile, the Sweets entered the eighth trailing 5-4.  Travis d'Arnaud tied the game with his seventh home run, a deep shot right down the left field line that just hooked around the foul pole.  GP's Matt Chapman followed in the bottom of the inning with his own blast that landed within 10 feet of d'Arnaud's shot, sending the Brewers to a hard fought (figuratively and literally) 6-5 win.

Robots at ACL's
Ankeny takes a pair from Roxbury to draw a little closer in the KML.  The ACL's sit eighth in the ten team conference's standings, but just four games out of first.

Miners at Thunder
Phoenix splits their series with Tucson, riding Albert Pujol's two run first inning homer to a 2-1 victory in game one before falling 4-2 in the closing game.

Tubemen at Kraken
Whacky and Brooklyn split; Whacky taking game one, 6-4 in extra innings and Brooklyn pitching throwing a 7-0 shutout in game two.

Rougarou at Hammers
Hawaiian wins the opening game, 4-2 before Lakeview turns the tables in game two with a 10-2 win.  Nicky Lopez doubles and triples twice and scores three times to lead the Rougarou offense.

Koi at Argos
After dropping game one to Mother Lode, Arizona bounces back in game two for a 3-0 victory.  Triston McKenzie throws a four hit, 10 K complete game shutout.

Auk at Dogs
Scurvy ends their losing streak with a 4-2 game one win.  Ozzie Albies wins game two for Great almost single handedly by swatting three home runs and driving in five to pace the Auk's 8-2 victory.

Rattlers at Madmen
Motor City takes game one, 4-2.  The Rattlers manage just two more runs in game two, but Carlos Rodon and the Windy City bullpen make that stand up as the Rattlers take game two, 2-1.

Sea Wolves at Landlubbers
Aaron Judge and Mike Trout each homer twice for Santa Ana in a 13-7 blowout win in the opening game of the series.  Trout then swats another homer, his 17th, in the closing game and the Sea Wolves sweep the set with a 5-1 victory.

Anglerfish at Bums
Bako plates six in the sixth highlighted by Adolis Garcia's grand slam to win game one.  Nolan Arenado homers twice in game two, including the game winning three run shot in the bottom of the ninth as the Bums win a pair at home.

I think we need some investigative journalism into what Gordon could have possibly done to Morton!
