May 29-30

Series Highlights

Kraken at Sea Wolves
After a poor April, Santa Ana finishes off May with a KML best 20-9 record and on a SIX GAME WINNING STREAK.  Both games finish in walk off fashion, game one courtesy of a Mike Trout homer and game two thanks to a two run rally capped by Aaron Judge's walk off single.

Argonauts at Miners
Mother Lode finishes the month with a league best 21-8 May record after taking two from Phoenix.  In saving both games, Argo closer Josh Hader remains unscored upon on the season.  12 saves in 12 attempts; a 0.00 ERA; 14.5 K/9; 27/4 K/BB ratio.  Not a bad start to the season.

ACL's at Rougarou
Ankeny sweeps a pair from Lakeview.  Julio Urias wins his eighth game of the season while lowering his ERA to 1.72 in the ACL's 5-3 game one  win.  Game two is an extra inning 10-8 slugfest that featured seven lead changes and was won on a bases loaded HBP.

Rattlers at Landlubbers
Ann Arbor holds court at home, taking game one 7-3 and game two, 6-3.  Unlikely leadoff man, Alejandro Kirk goes 4-8 with three runs scored and four RBI in the series.

Madmen at Robots
Motor City and Roxbury split their two game set with the visitors riding Jordan Montgomery's strong start in game two to take a 5-1 victory.

Thunder at Sweets
Tucson takes game one, 6-4, behind home runs from Randy Arozarena and Sam Huff.  Walla Walla comes back in game two for a convincing 10-2 win, roughing up Zach Wheeler for seven hits and five runs in just four innings.

Auk at Bums
Bako wins game one in extras on Nolan Arenado's walk off homer.  Even though Great tags Marcus Stroman and his 0.70 ERA for four runs in game two, the Bums offense rolls for 21 hits and 15 runs to complete the series sweep.

Brewers at Anglerfish
San Diego shuts out Grants Pass in game one, 2-0.  The Brewers bounce back in the second game for an 8-4 victory courtesy of CJ Cron's four hit, two homer, four RBI night.

Dogs at Koi
Scurvy's offense totals four runs over the two games.  Thankfully for them, Shohei Ohtani, George Kirby and the Diaz brothers allow just two to Arizona and the Dogs take a pair of 2-1 victories.

Hammers at Tubemen
Whacky wins a pair at home, holding on to the to spot in the KML ahead of the hard charging Sea Wolves.

What great signings the Diaz brothers were!

Alexis has a 1.93 ERA and 16.9 K/9 in 2023. He’s great.

Edwin has, wait, what’s this? He blew out his knee celebrating a meaningless exhibition game? (insert sarcasm alert) Could have happened anytime. Except I can’t recall the last mosh pit on the mound other than a G7 of the World Series. Nope, I’m not bitter at all about the WBC.
