HOTN: July 4

HotN:
The Koi beat the Nomads 3-2 in a marathon 22 inning game. The Nomads had a shot to win this in regulation with a 1-0 lead going into the bottom of the 9th, but a Cron HR sent it into extra innings were the game seemed to go on and on and on. If fans were sticking around for fireworks afterwards they had to wait a while. Both teams scored a run in the 20th, before the Koi broke through in the 22nd on a Werth walkoff HR.

Some crazy stats:
Stanton, Kipnis, Blanco, Flowers, Walker went a combined 0-27 for the Nomads. Not to be outdone - Saunders, Freese, Sanchez, Nunez, Martinez, Owings went 0-29 for the Koi
Despite all the AB, no one other than Posey had more than 2 hits - and he only went 3-8
Clearly the pitchers dominated, as both staffs allowed a combined 21 hits and struck out 30.

Honorable Mention #1:
Mookie Betts had a day for the ACL's - going 4-5 with 3 runs, 4 RBI, a HR, and 3 SB in their 11-7 win over the Sweets

Honorable Mention #2:
Daniel Murphy had a day for the Dogs - going 5-5 with 3 runs, 7 RBI, and 2 HR in their 9-2 win over the Bombers

Honorable Mention #3:
The Rum Runners beat the Madmen 4-0 in a rather odd way. They scored 4 runs in the 3rd inning with 4 walks followed by a single and a double. That was all the offense they needed as they only accumulated one other walk and no hits in the other innings.
