Highlight of the Night:
They are partying in the pacific northwest as the Cutthroats take the 2016 World Series title with a 3-2 victory over the Kraken. The Kraken took an early 1-0 behind 2 guys who showed up for them in the series, Guyer (.500/.583/.900) and Rickard (.636/.636/1.000) who both doubled in the top of the 2nd. Trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the 7th, World Series MVP Cespedes (.348/.348/.783, 3 HR, 5 runs, 5 RBI) doubled to LF to plate the game tying run. Lucroy later hit a sac fly to score Rizzo (who by the way had a terrible WS - .095/.167/.095) for the game winner. Pomeranz was terrific, going 7 innings for the win while allowing 7 hits, no walks, and striking out 11.

Congrats to Dan on a fine season and representing the (soon to be renamed) DPR conference, but the trophy will be given to Darrell and the Cutthroats. By all practical measures they were the class of the league (best record, best runs differential, etc) so it is fitting that they also won the World Series.

Dan, great series. You turned the Kraken around in no time. I have to say of all the teams in the playoffs yours was the one I did not want to face. It appears the vast amounts of money spent on the Cutthroats' bullpen paid off. Take a look at the results of the bullpen in this series....

Having lost to the Kraken in round one, it was hard knowing how they'd fare. The Kraken got off to that historic start, but then faded - I assume due to playing time limits. So I knew I'd be facing that first-half version of the team, just wasn't sure how much the playing time limits might hurt them. Not enough, apparently!
