I'm totally mulling this one over.  Any thoughts, guys?  Does Lackey have another couple years left in the tank?

Only signed through the end of this year, so who knows.  If the Cubs want Lackey again for veteran leadership on a one-year deal, I think he returns, but if the offers come in from the wrong rebuilding teams, I picture him retiring.

Exactly my thoughts.  I'm gonna take the risk that the Cubbies resign him for an extra year, considering I think he helps them to another Championship run (only to lose in the Championship Series against the Dodgers, of course).

Let's give the man a 3 year deal.
