HOTN - 2018 Opening Day

HotN:
Lots of interesting games tonight, but I'll go with the fact that three (Rainers, Robots, and Bums) of the four expansion teams won on Opening Day. Pretty nice start for the new owners :)

I won't do this every night of course but since it's opening day I'll do a quick recap of every game.

Asterisks beat Cache Hogs 7-1
Asterisks bat around in the 2nd inning, scoring all of their runs in the process. Murphy hit a 2-run HR to chase Scherzer who had a rough start to the season,

ACL's beat Miners 3-2 (in 11)
Miners sent it to extra innings with a run in the bottom of the 9th on a McCann double. Betts with a 2-run single in the top of the 11th to give the ACL's a 3-1 lead which was enough for the win.

Kraken beat Sweets 7-6
Look out once again for the Kraken offense, their 1-5 batters went a combined 10-25 with each of them scoring at least one run and a combined 6 RBI.

Nomads beat Rattlers 2-1
Our only pitching duel of the night as Sale (6 innings, 3 hits, 0 walks, 12 K's) gets the better of Verlander (7 innings, 6 hits, 1 walk, 7 K's, 2 runs, 1 earned)

Robots beat Dogs 4-3
Robots and closer Reed turn a game ending double play to earn their 1st win for the franchise. Kershaw was shaky in his first start in Coors (5 innings, 6 hits, 4 walks) and is on the phone with his agent as we speak.

Cutthroats beat Madmen 8-4
Cuttys start their World Series defense with 7 runs in the 6th. The Seager brother start the inning off with a double/single and later McCutchen with a 3-run HR.

Koi beat Rougarou 9-7
Rougarou get 6 in the 6th, highlighted by a 3-run HR by Gyorko to take a 7-5 lead, but their bullpen couldn't hold the lead. Harper with a HR in his debut for the Koi.

Bums beat Devils 8-0
Our only shutout of the night. Davies with a complete game shutout, going the full 9 innings allowing only 6 hits and 0 walks. Impressively he was also very efficient with only 98 pitches, 63 for strikes.

Landlubbers beat Brewers 9-3
Lamb with a grand slam in the 4th to really put the game out of reach. Rendon goes 4-5 which is exactly what you want from your leadoff hitter.

Rainiers beat Rum Runners 7-4
Wood with a good start to the season - going 7 innings, 6 hits allowed with 5 K's for the win. Davis paced the offense going 3-5 with a HR and 3 RBI with a HR.
