SERIES HIGHLIGHTS

We are into a portion of the schedule with all teams playing short two game series'.  Tonight is the second games of the first set of these series.

Splits

Hammers @ ACL's
Ankeny rallies late with two in the eighth and three in the ninth to walk off Hawaiian Garden, 6-5.

Thunder @ Argonauts
Tucson holds off a late rally from Mother Lode to split their series with their conference rival.  Clayton Kershaw allows his first run of the season (in four starts) and collects his third win.

Robots @ Kraken
Brooklyn finally gets off the schneid, winning 4-0 to split their series with Roxbury.  Michael Wacha and two relievers shutout the Robots on seven hits.

Madmen @ Landlubbers
Ann Arbor avoids the sweep by pounding Motor City, 14-0.  Twenty hits and a very balanced attack leads the offense and Cristian Javier goes seven shutout innings to collect the win.

Auk @ Yeti's
Drew Rasmussen leads the way for Great with seven innings of two-hit shutout ball.  The Auk split the series with a 3-1 win.

Koi @ Brewers
Arizona salvages the split with a 10-3 cakewalk in Grants Pass.  A Koi seven run 4th inning is the Brewers undoing.

Sweeps

Runners @ Rougarou
Chicago continues to struggle, losing their fifth in a row.  Lakeview wins the short set with the game two, 5-3 win.  The big blow is Marcus Semien's three run homer in the fifth.

Sweets @ Miners
Phoenix has been one of the hottest teams going over the last two-plus weeks.  They roll to a 13-6 win to sweep Walla Walla, Spencer Torkelson going 5-5 with a double and a home run.

Dogs @ Bums
Scurvy wins their third straight; Bako loses their third straight.  The Dogs pull back within one game of the Bums.

Rattlers @ Sea Wolves
Windy City sweeps to extend their winning streak to five games with the 7-3 victory.  Logan Webb pitches a strong seven innings, lowering his ERA to 1.43.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

Four shutouts today.

Hammers @ ACL's
It takes four 'roided hurlers, but HGH shuts out Ankeny, 5-0.  Jonathan Gray wins his fourth and drops his ERA to an almost inconceivable 1.15.

Sweets @ Miners
Reese Olson outduels Julio Urias, both pitchers working seven shutout innings.  Urias doesn't record an out in the eighth however, walking Kyle Isbel before surrendering a two run homer to Harold Ramirez.  Unfortunately deprived of the win, Olson's seven shutout innings does lower his ERA to 2.06 in the 2-0 Phoenix triumph.

Rum Runners @ Rougarou
Brady Singer completes his own two-hit shutout, and Josh Jung and Gary Sanchez homer (Sanchez twice) and Lakeview prolongs Chicago's slump with the 5-0 victory.

Auk @ Yetis
Cole Ragans completes his own as well, a five-hit shutout of Great.  Aaron Judge doubles and homers, and Matt Olson and Luis Rengifo clear the fences too, leading Everest to the 6-0 win.
