Title: July 16-18
Post by: Scurvy Dogs on July 23, 2024, 08:08:47 PM
ACL's over Miners:
Fun Fact: a pair of shutouts (G1 by the Miners, G3 by the ACL's_ sandwiched around a 16-1 beat down by the ACL's in G2. ACL's 1-5 hitters (Wade, Soto, Betts, Noda, Raley) went a combined 20-13-13-14 in the game. Impressive!

Landlubbers over Thunder:
Fun Fact: With every loss I'm hearing increasing calls for the GM and coach of the Thunder to be fired. Makes me smile...

Rum Runners over Koi:
Fun Fact: G1 was a nail biter! Both teams scored in the 10th, before a walkoff double by McCormick scores the winning run for the Rum Runners in the 11th.

Hammers over the Sweets:
Fun Fact: I'm wondering if anyone from the Frick is going to win a series? Hammers score 2 in the 7th and 4 more in the 8th in G3 to win 9-6.

Argos over the Kraken:
Fun Fact: Yeah, go Frick! Tell me when you've seen this before - there were more HBP (1) in G2 than extra base hits (0). Argos win 1-0.

Dogs sweep Rattlers:
Fun Fact: 6 wins in a row for the 'good guys'. I guess I can keep my job for another week or so. G3 was messy for both teams after both SP were pulled after a 90-minute rain delay before the start of the bottom of the 2nd. Bring on a never-ending train of relief pitchers!

Sea Wolves over Bums:
Fun Fact: I probably just got fired. Sea Wolves finally win again (last win was 7/3!). Couldn't have come at a better time...

Auk over Rougarou:
Fun Fact: Auk are in 1st place after the series. Brain sold his soul for that trophy as the defending champs continue to struggle this year. And you know what? I don't think anyone blames him for doing so! But umm, Brian - start prepping that trophy shipment to South Dakota. Just saying...

Robots sweep the Yetis:
Fun Fact: hey Larry, you might want to shore up that defense. 7 errors in the series. Another weird fact - Yetis pitchers in G2 combined for 6 walks and 0 strikeouts. Not sure I've seen that before!

Madmen over Brewers:
Fun Fact: That Acuna guy is pretty good. 5-3-3-3 with a HR (his 15th) and 2 SB (his 57th and 58th).

I’m pondering writing a resignation letter, making it look like it comes from the field manager. I’m gonna do it on white paper, without a Thunder seal, use an electronic signature, and send it out via X. Think anyone will buy it?

Too bad the team around Acuna isn't holding up to their end of the bargain.
