GAME HIGHLIGHTS
HUGE series this round in Scurvy. With Great coming to town, one of the two teams will take hold of the HFA first wild card spot in the Frick. Without further ado...
Auk 2, Dogs 1
Game one goes to the visitors. Despite Justin Verlander's stunted start, Auk pitching shuts down the potent Scurvy offense for this game, allowing just three hits and one unearned run. Sonny Gray surrenders a two run homer to Lars Nootbaar in the seventh that proves to be the decisive blow.
Robots 8, ACL's 6
Roxbury wins its FIFTH STRAIGHT CONTEST, coming from behind to snatch the victory from Ankeny with three runs in the eighth and three more in the ninth.
Miners 5, Thunder 3
A rain delay in the fifth shorts out Spencer Strider's good start. Phoenix takes advantage rallying against the Tucson bullpen late to score the win.
Rum Runners 7, Kraken 6
Chicago runs out early and then holds on late to keep pressure on Santa Ana and put a little more distance between themselves and Brooklyn.
Rougarou 7, Hammers 2
Hunter Renfroe goes 4-4 and Josh Jung cracks his 25th homer to lead Lakeview to the win.
Brewers 7, Sweets 1
Logan Gilbert pitches eight, two hit innings and Grants Pass gets homers form Gunnar Henderson and Evan Carter. Grants Pass extends to a six game lead over Tucson for the final wild card spot in the Frick.
Koi 7, Argos 4
Arizona gets to Mother Lode starter Justin Steele early and often to build a lead they will not relinquish.
Madmen 5, Rattlers 4 (10)
Motor City ties the game in the ninth on a walk, stolen base and a run scoring single and then walks it off in the tenth on Luis Garcia's RBI single.
Landlubbers 7, Sea Wolves 6 (10)
Ann Arbor walks it off in the tenth on Alejandro Kirk's line drive single that plates Ahmed Rosario.
Bums 2, Yetis 0
It takes 100+ pitches to get through five, but the presumptive Cy Young frontrunner, Gerrit Cole shuts out Everest on three hits while striking out 10. The bullpen finishes off the shutout, Devin Williams pitching a scoreless ninth to earn his 42nd save and lower his ERA to 0.57. Bako's magic number drops to four.
