Bums 8 v Sea Wolves 12 (Sea Wolves up 3-1)

Hear ye, hear ye, a tale of diamond strife,
At hallowed Wrigley on a autumn's day,
Where Bums and Sea Wolves brought their bats to life,
And eight-to-twelve the final score would lay.

The Bums struck first with mighty Casas' blast,
Two runs in first, two more in second frame,
But fortune's wheel doth turn both swift and vast,
As Tatis' grand strike put the Wolves aflame.

Five runs did pour in third, the tide did turn,
Yet back and forth the lead would dance and sway,
As Garcia's bat made twice the leather burn,
And Knizner's homers kept the Bums in fray.

But lo! The eighth inning proved most severe,
When Ahmed's blast did tie the contest true,
Then Muncy's double brought the crowd to cheer,
And Belt's great homer bid the Bums adieu.

The final frame saw Raley stand supreme,
Three Bums did fall by strike, their hopes now dust.
Thus did the Sea Wolves' victory gleam,
As Wrigley's crowd watched fortunes turn to rust.

So mark ye well this tale of rise and fall,
Where leads of four runs sometimes don't suffice,
For baseball, cruel mistress of them all,
Doth teach that victory commands its price.
