Cutthroats and Nomads faced off in a matchup of the two divisional leaders in the CJSL. And it was a tight 2-1 affair until the Cuttys opened it up with a 7 run 8th inning to put the game away, winning 9-1. 5 walks in the fateful 8th were the primary cause of the Nomads undoing.
Honorable Mention #1:
The Cache Hogs only got 3 hits, but they only needed 1 of them. A 9th inning HR by (who else?) Mike Trout gave them a 1-0 win over the Devils.
Honorable Mention #2:
Yes, I've brought up the Landlubbers a lot recently. But when you win 22-1 you deserve to be mentioned. Rum Runners SP Tropeano was hammered - 3 innings, 15 hits, 4 walks, 13 earned runs. Brent - maybe you should have gotten someone else up in the bullpen before that point :)
Villar and Rendon both go 5-6 with 2 runs and 4 RBI.
We know how to stop that 5-game winning streak better than anyone around.
