Sad to hear of the death Monday of Red Sox icon Bobby Doerr. Doerr was 99 and the oldest living MLBer at the time of his death. Doerr is one of the 4 players depicted in the famous statue of "The Teammates" outside Fenway Park. Doerr, Dom DiMaggio, Johnny Pesky,and Ted Williams are the 4 players depicted in the statuary group. Doerr had been the last living "Teammate" since Pesky's death in 2012. I had to immediately take the opportunity to nominate Doerr in the currently ongoing SCRUBS Classic player auction. Hope I get him. RIP Bobby Doerr.
