For many years I avoided Giants. As a Dodger fan it just didn't feel right and I didn't have the heart to root for one of their players. It served me well with a pretty successful Mutiny career. Last year, I got greedy and decided to trade for Cueto. Starting the year with a pretty solid team and expecting the playoffs, the Nomads wound up having their worst season since the early days of the league. And would you believe it, Cueto wound up having a terrible year forcing me to dump his salary as it became clear my team wasn't going anywhere.
Did I learn my lesson? Of course not! On the lookout for a top end pitcher and not feeling comfortable with the combination of player and salary of the available free agents, I took a gamble on a season and a half of Bumgarner. I figured he would rebound and give me a full Bumgarner like season next season and I had the depth to deal with his half season this year. And what did I get? A displaced broken pinky that will require pins and likely keep him out till the All-Star break. Another half season of Giantness.
The Baseball world is full of superstitions and I have mine. Never again fellow simulators. Never again!
Amen, brother! I have quite a few X-gnats on my Asterisks, but no current gnats. I am REALLY hoping Pagan doesn't re-sign with them.
