June 12th-14th

SERIES MATCHUPS

~  The hottest two teams in the league will hook up as Great welcomes Chicago to town.  Both teams have won 8 of their last 10 and are on mini four game win streaks.

~  Tucson welcomes Motor City to the desert.  Tucson has not been at their best over the last week-plus, but Motor City is looking to snap an 8 game losing streak.

~  In Mother Lode, two teams looking to keep their turn around's going match up.  Ann Arbor is a few games further into their resurgence while Mother Lode is coming off a series sweep and needs to climb back to .500 and into the Frick playoff picture.  Which resurgent team comes out with the win?

~  Santa Ana travels north to face the Brewers in Grants Pass.  Santa Ana hopes to keep pace with the Rum Runners, who have caught them in the KML, while the Brewers recent four game win streak has tied them with Tucson for the fourth Frick playoff spot.

~  In Everest, the Yetis have won 8 of 10 and three in a row.  Lakeview arrives in a tailspin. Can the defending champs cool off the Yetis (or perhaps warm up?) and right their ship?

JUNE 12TH

Five run innings and the end of a couple losing streaks highlight tonight's games.

ACL's 5, Koi 4
Ankeny rallies for three runs in the eighth to edge Arizona.

Madmen 10, Thunder 0
Motor City breaks out of their eight game losing streak with an emphatic shutout win in Tucson.  The Madmen score in each of the first six innings.

Rum Runners 4, Auk 3
Chicago and JP Sears take a 4-0 shutout into the eighth in Great before hanging on for the one run victory.

Hammers 10, Miners 6
Hawaiian Gardens scores five in the seventh to break open a close back and forth game.

Kraken 3, Sweets 0
Brooklyn pitching shuts out Walla Walla on two hits and Isaac Paredes and Chris Taylor hit 2nd inning homers to lead the Kraken to the road win.

Argos 6, Landlubbers 5
Mother Lode scores five in the third inning but it takes a Yordan Alvarez 7th inning homer to send the Argos to the one run victory.

Dogs 7, Robots 3
Nolan Arenado highlights a five run seventh for Scurvy with a three run blast.

Bums 7, Rattlers 4
Windy City's JD Davis homers twice and drives in four, but that is all the offense the Rattlers can manage.  Bako scores six over the first two innings thanks to the top of their order.

Brewers 8, Sea Wolves 3
2-1 Brewers into the third.  Wolves score two to take the lead, but Grants Pass rallies right back with five runs in the bottom of the frame to reclaim the lead.  The offenses produce base runners after that but neither team is able to score and GP takes game one.

Rougarou 9, Yetis 5
Adam Frazier goes 4-5 with a homer and four RBI for Lakeview as they end their slide.

Tough loss by my Auk to the Rum Runners.   I may need some of that rum tonight.   Tough game for Corbin Carroll   In the 2nd and the 5th with two outs he singled.   But was thrown out stealing second both times ending the inning.   In the 7th down 4-0 with runners on 2nd & 3rd with two outs he struck out.   Then he grounded out to end the game in the 9th.   He ended the frame all four times he was at bat or on base.

Gotta bounce back against the NL Cy Young winner Snell.    Old man Scherzer back on the Active roster and taking the mound for my Auk in game two.  This after he was down in cyber AAA riding the bus for a few weeks to think about his 8.00+ ERA after his first six starts of the season.

JUNE 13TH

ACL's 5, Koi 4
Ankeny is joining the ranks of the climbers, winning 9 of their last 11 to reach a season high eight games over .500 and rise within two games of the KML lead.

Thunder 9, Madmen 3
Tucson pounces early with two in the first and six in the second and cruise from there.  Spencer Strider strikes out 11 over seven innings to pick up his 5th win.

Auk 6, Rum Runners 5
Great jumps out to a 5-0 lead behind Max Scherzer.  The Auk ace runs into trouble in the sixth as Chicago mounts a four run rally, but that's as close as the Runners get.  The rubber match tomorrow pits Daniel Lynch (unscored upon in his first 25 innings over three starts) against Luis Castillo (8-1, 2.31 on the season).

Hammers 13, Miners 5
The Hammers continue to . . . well, hammer Miners pitching.  After 10 runs yesterday, Hawaiian Gardens pounds out 17 hits on their way to the 13-5 win.

Sweets 6, Kraken 3
Christian Walker homers twice to lead Walla Walla to the victory, tying the series going into game three.

Argos 2, Landlubbers 1
Justin Steele and Matt Manning lock up in a pitchers duel in Mother Lode.  Bryce Harper wins it for Mother Lode with a game winning homer leading off the bottom of the eighth.

Dogs 2, Robots 1
The Dogs collect just four hits, but two of them are Edward Olivares and Daulton Varsho's back to back homers in the fifth inning.  In the eighth, Dogs reliever Jordan Hicks gives up three singles to load the bases but leaves them loaded to preserve the one run lead.  Gregory Soto has an uneventful ninth to secure the win.

Bums 7, Rattlers 1
Gerrit Cole continues his strong season with seven shutout innings, lowering his ERA to 1.80 and running his record to 6-1.

Brewers 3, Sea Wolves 2
Grants Pass wins its SIXTH STRAIGHT courtesy of Josh Lowe's eighth inning game winning single.

Yetis 3, Rougarou 0
Alex Cobb and the Everest bullpen complete a five hit, 12 K shutout of Lakeview to even the series.
