GAME RESULTS

KML Conference race

Sea Wolves 3, Madman 0
Having already secured a playoff berth, Santa Ana is now chasing the KML Conference crown.  A 3-0 shutout of Motor City reduces their magic number to 6.  Kyle Bradish pitches six, two hit innings and the bullpen record three perfect frames to gain the shuout.  Jack Suwinski's first inning homer is all the offense the Wolves need on this day.

Landlubbers 5, Rum Runners 2
While Chicago's magic number for a playoff bid is one, Ann Arbor is still fighting to keep Ankeny in their rear views for the final playoff position.  The Landlubbers offense struggles along for the first half of the game and starter Kevin Gausman fights in and out of trouble into the fifth.  The Landlubber bats pick up in the second half of the game, scoring four late runs while the bullpen holds Chicago in check.  The Landlubbers hold their three game lead over Ankeny, despite...

ACL's 7, Rattlers 0
...Ankeny's shutout of Windy City.  Ryan Mountcastle leads the charge with a pair of homers and four RBI.

Kraken 10, Rougarou 5
Brooklyn stays two games ahead of Ann Arbor in the wild card race with the 10-5 win in Lakeview.  A five run first sets the tone for the game and the Kraken are never in any danger.

Robots 2, Hammers 0
Nick Pivetta pitches seven shutout frames and the Roxbury bullpen completes the seven hit shutout.  It takes until the seventh, but the Robots piece together a two run inning to make the strong pitching performance stand up.

Frick Conference

Bums 10, Sweets 2
Bako has clinched it's fourth straight playoff berth, but still has work to do to secure a fourth straight division/conference crown.  A seven homer outburst, including two from Andrew McCutchen, Nick Senzel, and Adolis Garcia leads the way to the easy win today.  The Bums magic number sits at 7.

Dogs 8, Yetis 1
Still chasing . . . ever chasing it seems . . . the Bums, Scurvy stays hot with the easy win in Everest.  Shohei Ohtani homers and drives in four, but the credit for today's win goes to George Kirby.  Winning his 17th game of the season, Kirby pitches eight, two hit innings, striking out nine to lead the Dogs.  Scurvy still has some work to do just to hold on to first round home field advantage thanks to...

Auk 6, Argos 1
Great rides a four run first inning to the victory over Mother Lode.  Great sits just one game back of Scurvy, thanks to their own hot stretch that has seen them win their last five in a row.

Brewers 6, Miners 4
Grants Pass is looking to get on track to shake the upstart Thunder and hit the playoffs playing well.  The Brewers 6-4 win today, coupled with a Tucson loss gives GP a five game cushion for that last Frick Conference playoff spot.  Yu Darvish is staked to four run lead but gives up a four spot to Phoenix in the third.  He settles down from there and Ketel Marte and Matt Chapman homer (Chapman twice) to send the Brewers to the win.

Koi 8, Thunder 7
After a hot stretch following the trade deadline got Tucson within one game of the Brewers and a playoff spot, Tucson has cooled, losing five straight to drop off the pace.  Tonight's loss is a hard one to stomach.  After trailing the whole game, the Thunder score four in the eighth to take a 7-4 lead.  Short lived is the joy though as Arizona fills the bases and rallies back for the win on Teoscar Hernandez' game winning grand slam in the ninth.
