Waiving and releasing a player who has a Salary Offset on an expiring contract

Can we waive and release players who have a Salary Offset? I'm asking with regards to Daniel Bard. His contract expires at the end of this year. I was granted a Salary Offset on him, but I'd also like to take the extra step of releasing him. No point on keeping him in a roster spot when he's never going to play for the Yetis again... No, not interested in a Home Town Discount... ;)

Yes, you keep the salary offset after a player is waived.
