Re: 3b Alex Bregman Reply #29 – February 15, 2024, 02:19:37 AM Editing of bids is strictly prohibited. For reasons specifically like this. David (in a CO capacity) replied to the original thread questioning the validaty of the $5.5M bid since it was not a raise. After that the bid was edited to a valid bid amount. The issue is that editing the earlier bid didn’t change the last post to the thread. So unless the previous bidder (in this case David) was watching closely he really didn’t have the opportunity to know to raise the bid amount. It was assumed that the $7.75M bid was still high since there wasn’t a reply to his “invalid bid post”. Yes this gets into the weeds a bit. But hopefully that explains why it’s specifically in the rules NOT to edit bids during FA. If you make a typo we’ll all understand. No one is going to hold you to a $27.5M bid when we know you meant $2.75M. I mean you need to rapidly reply telling us you made the typo, but we’ll understand if you do Long story short. We are invalidating the $8M bid as it was edited. The current high bid is David’s at $7.75M and it will close in roughly 5 hours. Of course bidding remains open for anyone interested. Quote Selected
