Auction slots vs Team roster sizes January 28, 2025, 02:27:36 PM Supply and Demand always fascinated me. One of my few "A's" in college was in Econ 101. Auction starting this Sunday. Obviously how much will Ohtani and Betts and Wheeler go for is always a point of interest and speculation. Will Ohtani go for more or less in 2025 than he did in 2022 ?Back to supply and demand. I see from the team roster pages there are 134 openings under 40 players per team. The new auction grid has 195 spots for nominated players. So it seems that the later round auctions MAY see less players. Of course we can still cut players off the 40 man so more openings may come up. Quote Selected 1 Likes

Re: Auction slots vs Team roster sizes Reply #2 – January 29, 2025, 08:47:54 PM Bob,I'm guessing we have 30-40 waivers during free agency as things go on. I could be wrong but that's my best guess. So I think we'll have about 180 spots to fill. Quote Selected 2 Likes

Out, out, brief candle!Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player,That struts and frets his hour upon the stage,And then is heard no more. It is a taleTold by an idiot, full of sound and fury,Signifying nothing. Quote Selected 1 Likes
