New forums and Free Aency January 26, 2024, 10:06:27 AM HelloInitially I was getting bounced out where I couldn't post anything but I reentered the web page and it came back with me already logged in and I could post. Should work fine I reckon. I was having no issues with the prior web page but some folks were and that was frustrating I would imagine. I'm sure this has been a lot of work. THANK YOU David and whomever else for your time on this On Free Agency has it always been 20 players the first round then 25, 30, 35, 40 and then unlimited ? How many players end up being obtained each year via free agency ? I would propose (with my only 1 1/2 years prior league experience) to make the first two rounds 30 players each just so there isn't a bum rush of players the last round. Also too (this is a lot of work however) is maybe stagger the easily projected "Type -A" free agents (top 20 in projected salary) between the first four rounds so 5 of them are in each round. There could be detriments to this way as well. bob auk Right now is it the first nominated players that go into Round 1 ? Quote Selected
Re: New forums and Free Aency Reply #1 – January 26, 2024, 01:36:24 PM Bob,It's been that way for years. The idea is that many of the players in round 1 are the most highly sought after guys and therefore we don't want to overload owners who want to target multiple $10+mn players but can't bid over their available salary cap number. In most years round 6 is about 40-50 guys but about half of them go unsigned. So I don't think we have overkill in that or other later rounds.Generally speaking the first nominated players go in round 1 however the CO will sometimes drop a player or two if the nominated player pool needs a bit more star power.
