Spring Training in AZ

Gents, let's get a roll call going with this.

Also, the travel plans for yours truly: I will be arriving in the PHX area sometime in the mid-afternoon with a couple friends. We're gonna hit some balls at Top Golf (I've never been to one), then we'll be free for dinner somewhere near Camelback Ranch. Game starts at 7 pm. Maybe David has a good suggestion for all of us to meet up for some grub?

After the game, we're heading back down to Tucson, unfortunately. Something about having a job.

Kyle,

So Top Golf is located in Scottsdale and Camelback Ranch is located in Glendale. I live about halfway in between. Here is a map (though I didn't exactly identify my home): https://goo.gl/maps/27QY3R118kR2

It would be up to you where you'd want to eat. Someplace out near the stadium before the game or someplace in between? In my opinion, the best restaurants are either in Scottsdale or in the area around my home.

At this time, I have tickets for Matt, Jim, and Darrell. Not sure if everyone is going to make it, but I'm hopeful.

Ok, now that I have that out of the way, I guess it all depends on which direction Matt, Jim, and Darrell would be coming from. I'm down with someplace near your house so you can just set it up at a familiar place. But if those guys are coming from the west, then maybe we should meet closer to the stadium.

Hi Guys,

I'll be flying in Wednesday evening. I'm going to to the Cubs at Dodgers on Thursday (1pm). I might try to hit up an evening game somewhere but I haven't figured that out. Then I'm free till game time on Friday evening. I'm staying in a hotel on the West side of Phoenix thats about 15 to Camelback Ranch. I'm leaving Saturday morning as I have to work on Sunday. I was going to be coming with a friend of mine but he had a financial emergency and ended up having to back out. So I'll probably be on my own a good portion of the trip. I decided to attempt not renting a car and will try to get around via Lyft.

A friend of mine who has spent a lot of springs in AZ (former professional umpire) said Scottsdale is happening. He also said that his favorite hang out/bar was the Moon Saloon which I believe he said was right across the field from the Peoria Complex (Mariners/Padres). I understand it's a fun place with good food and adult beverages. I think it's 15-20 minutes from Camelback.

Kyle, I've never golfed a day in my life otherwise I'd invite myself to your golf outing. But food after sounds great!

Matt, I'm looking forward to finally meeting you face-to-face after all these years. We go way back to the BBWC days, so that's about 17 years!

To all, my travel plans change just a little bit. The guys I'm coming up with might be able to swing getting the full day off, so we might come up a lot earlier and hit an actual golf course instead of Topgolf. Dinner at 5 somewhere between Scottsdale and Camelback is still the plan though! I'll keep you posted.

I agree that Scottsdale is happening. That said, our dinner plans would be around 5 PM, so not sure how happening it'll be on a Friday afternoon. More importantly, all of Matt's activities are taking place on the west side of town, so maybe it's just best to target that side of the city for dinner. Why don't we figure out the time/place a couple days beforehand so we know our timing?

Awesome. Sounds good.

And our plans are now more clear: We'll be at Topgolf Friday afternoon, dinner with you guys at 5 is great, and near Camelback Ranch is perfect, as we've got a hotel room near the corner of I-10 and the 101.
