July 19-21 July 25, 2024, 10:42:42 PM ACL's over Koi:Fun Fact: Score 6-6 in the bottom of the 9th in G1 - Wade with an infield single and then scores on a walkoff triple by Soto. Madmen over Thunder:Fun Fact: 10 GB and out of the playoffs in the Frick, the Thunder would still be a playoff team in the KML. Just saying. I blame the recent losses by the Thunder on signing DeScsfasfdasfani in the offseason - we all know that's bad juju. Anyway - Acuna with 2 more HR (17) and another SB (59) in the series. To put this in perspective, 2nd place in SB (Gimenez) has a total of 26 SB. Acuna has DOUBLE (and then some) of the guy in 2nd place!Rum Runners sweep Auk:Fun Fact: Well that didn't last long for the Auk. From 1st to 3rd in the matter of one series. Hays with 7 RBI and 2 HR in the series for the Runners.Hammers sweep Miners:Fun Fact: Miners have a 5-2 lead in G1 after 2 innings, but can't hold on after they accumulate three errors in a disastrous 7 inning losing 7-6.Kraken sweep Sweets:Fun Fact: 3 straight sweeps for the KML! Anyway, G1 was a fun unless you're a fan of good pitching. Kraken win 13-12 aided by a 9 run 6th inning. Parades both walked and hit a 3-run HR in the inning on his way to a 3-4-3-5 night.Argos over Kraken:Fun Fact: Don't fault the Lubbers SP! Argos score 3 in the top of the 9th to steal G1 (5-4) and do it again with 4 runs after the 7th to steal G3 (4-2). That easily could have been a 4th straight sweep by the KML had Kraken RP held.Dogs sweep Robots:Fun Fact: 9 straight wins for the 'good guys'. Ohtani has a HR party with one in each game upping his total on the season to 24. He added a SB for fun in G3!Bums sweep Rattlers:Fun Fact: Well, this isn't fun. Since the start of interleague play the Rattlers are 8-35. Sea Wolves over Brewers:Fun Fact: Suwinski was a lone wolf as he was the only Wolves starter without a hit in G2, although he did add a run scored and an RBI. Here's another fun fact: two Sea Wolves (Jones and Belt) are battling it out for the top spots in batting average, on-base percentage, and slugging percentage. Who had that on their bingo card? Jones = .339/.456/.643 while Belt = .338/.441/.658. Only the Dogs Seager (more on him in a second) is preventing them from sweeping the tops spots in all 3 categories (Belt/Seager/Jones 1-2-3 in slugging percentage)Yetis over Rougarou:Fun Fact: India (4-3-2-4) and Judge (5-2-2-5) lead the way in G2 winning 13-3. Judge with 2 HR in the game, upping his league lead to 33. He's only one off the lead for RBI as well (leader is Seager with 66, Judge and Muncy have 65). Quote Selected

Re: July 19-21 Reply #2 – July 26, 2024, 11:15:21 AM I noticed many position players now past 105% total or 120% vs a side of pitching. Many pitchers too now over 105% Interesting on the July 20th game between the Yetis and Rougarou Judge is now over 120% vs LHP. He hit two HRs that game but both vs RHP. Zerpa (LHP) and also over 120% did strike Judge out the one time the faced off. Judge then clobbered a 3-R HR off of Wantz (RHP) his second in that game in the 7th inning. I guess I'm curious to see how the over limit players perform as over the limit. What does DMB do to them? Quote Selected
Re: July 19-21 Reply #3 – July 27, 2024, 06:37:23 AM Bob - I posted something similar to Larry, but I'll post it here too. The results aren't pretty once the player exceeds usage. There will be the occasional HR or whatever, but over time the software does a very good job of turning the player into sub-replacement level once they exceed their usage. In the past I've run some sims specifically testing it out, and it's brutal. My advice would be to avoid it unless you don't have any other options. Quote Selected
Re: July 19-21 Reply #4 – July 27, 2024, 06:45:15 AM From the rulebook:When the Playing Time Penalties feature is enabled, players will perform at full strength until they reach their maximum playing time thresholds as described below. When a player exceeds one of these thresholds, he immediately becomes a replacement level performer. During games where a team is under computer control, the computer manager will adjust its strategy to account for the performance level changes for players who have exceeded their maximum playing time. In other words, the computer manager will recognize when a player's performance level has been reduced and avoid using them if appropriate. Keep in mind that if a player is listed for a specific role in the team's manager profile, that will also influence how the computer manager handles him. For example, if a pitcher is listed as the number one closer in the team's pitching chart, he will still be considered the primary closer even after he has exceeded his maximum playing time and had his performance level reduced. It's important to note that a player's hidden event table is not permanently altered when you use the playing time penalties system. The adjustment to replacement level is applied before each game and before the standard adjustments for park factors, era and weather are applied. For this reason, you are able to activate or deactivate the playing time penalties system or change any of the maximum playing time settings at any point during a season with no unexpected consequences. The playing time penalties system is enabled by checking the Activateplaying time penalties box. Leave the box unchecked if you choosenot to use the playing time penalties system. In addition, you may enableor disable the individual playing time maximums by checking the associatedbox. When a maximum threshold is enabled you will also be able to set the usage threshold as a percentage of real-life playing time. For the purposes of determining whether a player has exceeded his maximum playing time, the player's real-life playing time is compared to his accumulated simulated playing time. For example, if the Total plate appearances option is enabled with a percentage limit of 110%, a player with 500 real-life plate appearances will exceed his maximum playing time and begin to perform at replacement level once his simulated number of plate appearances is greater than 550 (500 plate appearances x 110%).By clicking the Set Defaults button, you can restore all playing time penalties to their default values.BattersFor Batters, you may activate and set separate playing time thresholds for Total plate appearances and Plate appearance splits. These settings may be used individually or in combination. When a player exceeds his Total plate appearances threshold, his batting performance will be adjusted to that of a replacement level batter with standard platoon splits. When a player exceeds his Plate appearance splits threshold for one platoon split, his batting performance will be adjusted to that of a replacement level batter for that platoon split only. In other words, a player who has reached his maximum playing time against left-handed pitchers will perform at replacement level against left-handed pitchers, but will continue to perform at his usual level against right-handed pitchers. When it comes to determining replacement level for batters, all positions are not the same. Depending on the player's primary position his replacement level performance may be higher or lower than the overall average replacement level. Using the results of our extensive research, we are able to rank the relative offensive contribution of each position from highest to lowest as follows:1B RF LF DH 3B CF 2B C SSFor example, the expected replacement level performance of a player whose primary position is first base will be higher than that of a player whose primary position is shortstop. The batting penalties apply to both batters and pitchers-as-batters, however, a player's pitching and fielding performance will NOT be affected by exceeding his batting playing time thresholds.PitchersFor Pitchers, you may set maximum playing time thresholds for Innings pitched, Batters faced, or Games started. These settings may be used individually or in any combination. When a player exceeds any one of these thresholds, his pitching performance will be adjusted to that of a replacement level pitcher. For example, if a pitcher has exceeded his Games Started Maximum he will perform at replacement level whether he's used to start a game or in relief, even if he has not reached his Innings pitched or Batters faced maximums. In addition, other than fatigue, which is not affected by playing time penalties, replacement level for a starter is the same as replacement level for a reliever. The pitching penalties apply only to pitchers since non-pitchers are already rated to perform at a level that is considerably below replacement if they are used as pitchers. Batting and fielding performance is NOT affected by exceeding the pitching playing time thresholds. Quote Selected
