Sept 8-10

GAME RESULTS

Hammers @ ACL's
ACL's, 4-0
Hammers, 12-10
ACL's, 7-5
If you like offense, game two was just your jam.  Hammers jump out 4-0 in the first; ACL's rally back with five in the third and then blow past with another five spot in the fourth; Hammers close the gap with three in the fifth and two in the seventh.  In the ninth, Hawaiian Gardens loads the bases with no outs and Paul Goldschmidt (2B, HR, 6 RBI) ties the affair with a double before Manny Machado plates the winning run with a two out single.

Thunder @ Argonauts
Argos, 8-5
Thunder, 9-2
Thunder, 4-2

Rum Runners @ Rougarou
Runners, 3-1
Runners, 10-1

Dogs @ Bums
Dogs, 4-2
Bums, 4-3
Bums, 7-3
A HUGE series in Bako this round, pitting the top two teams in the league against each other as they chase down the Frick Conference crown and the possible overall #1 seed in the playoffs.  In game one, George Kirby goes toe to toe with the Cy Young favorite, Gerrit Cole, outpitching him but leaving tied, 2-2.  The Scurvy bullpen holds while the Bums depleted pen gives up a couple in the seventh to send the Dogs to the 4-2 game one win.  Game two matches Chris Sale versus Framber Valdez. Each take their lumps, but Valdez comes out ahead and Devin Williams slams the door in the ninth to help Bako tie the series.  Recent call up, Christopher Sanchez takes the hill for Bako in the deciding game and pitches seven, one run innings.  The Bums offense scores seven on nine hits and the Bums extend a game over Scurvy with the series win.

I just really enjoy how that 3rd game wasn’t worthy of having the score posted.

From the Sept 2-4 posting I had speculated:  Wunderkid Evan Carter for the Brewers didn't play the next series vs my Auk.   Interesting what he will do for the Brewers with his small sample size but fantastic numbers.  Save him for the Bums and the Dogs dabnabit.

Well he just went 5 for 7 with two HRs in this first series for the Brewers.    His first full year 2024 was not as good as his cup of coffee in 2023 but this kid will be good.   Remember:  Play Evans vs the Bums and Dogs not the Auk.
