GAME RESULTS

Heading into the final series, there are still a few races to be decided.

~ In the Frick, Scurvy and Great are locked up at 99-57 for the 1st wild card slot and home field advantage.
~ In the KML, Santa Ana needs a single win or a Chicago loss to sew up the conference crown.
~ Brooklyn has a one game advantage over Ann Arbor for the 2nd wild card slot in the KML.

We'll break those races down in separate posts until they are decided.  As for the rest of us...

Yetis 10, Thunder 5
Seven in a row dropped by the Thunder; unheard of in Tucson.  Jake Rogers homers twice and drives in four to lead Everest to the win.

Sweets 10, Argos 6
Sweets jump out to an 8-0 lead after two innings, knocking out two pitchers in the process.  Walla Walla cruises from there.

Rougarou 9, Madmen 7
A back and forth game is decided in the eighth on a Corey Julks two run double.

Bums 3, Koi 1
Cristopher Sanchez continues his stellar run with six innings of one run ball, striking out 11 in the process.  Bobby Witt Jr. drives in all three runs.

Great 4, Grants Pass 1
Phoenix 13, Scurvy 4

Great takes the one game lead with two to go.  Drew Rasmussen stays perfect (7-0, 2.29 ERA) since his late season call up, shutting down the Brewer bats.  Grants Pass does itself no favors with three errors leading to two unearned runs for Great.  The Miners jump out early in Scurvy, but the Dogs put up a four spot in the third to get close.  Phoenix scores seven unanswered from there however to run away with it.

Chicago 5, Ankeny 3 (10)
Hawaiian Gardens 6, Santa Ana 4

Santa Ana will have to wait one more day at least.  Chicago scores four runs in the top of the tenth and then weathers the Ankeny rally in the bottom of the inning to stay alive.  Patrick Wisdom delivers the big blow with a grand slam for the Runners.  In Hawaiian Gardens, the Hammers score four in the first on a Yandy Diaz grand slam and hold on from there.

Brooklyn 5, Windy City 0
Ann Arbor 5, Roxbury 4 (10)

Brooklyn blanks Windy City on five hits and Wilyer Abreu highlights a four run eighth with a three run homer, his first of the season.  Ann Arbor walks off Roxbury when Willi Castro is hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the tenth.  Brooklyn remains one game up on Ann Arbor.
