Rum Runners 9 @ Sea Wolves 3 (Rum Runners up 2-0)

The Sea Wolves will be doing a lot of soul searching tonight after going down twice at home. But it's clear where the adjustments need to be made; currently the Wolves starters are a combined 5-51 against the Runners' pitching. On the other side of the diamond, the Rum Runners seem to have figured out the Wolves as they are a combined 20-74.

Auk 1 @ Bums 2 (Series tied 1-1)

What's with the Bums and their penchant for 1 run games? After 5 of them in the divisional series, the Bums win one on the second 1 run game of this series. I was told that Coach Brendt just wants to keep the fans on edge but that seems unduly harsh. Whatever the reason, the Bums prevail in this one on the strength of their pitching and a particularly ill-timed error on Volpe in the bottom of the ninth that gave the Bums the extra chance they needed to score a walk-off sac-fly to center.

Don't talk to Bruno about the offense going cold. Nine games into the post season and only 26 runs were scored by the Auk. Split on the road is good but it would be nice to be sitting like the Rum Runners up two and headed home.

I’d have to look at how many my offensive offense has scored in our nine games, but I’d wager it’s not too far off your 26.

Trade ya. My offense is polishing their skills for next offseason. I’d gladly have them still be playing meaningful games, even if that means they are forced to use the wrong end of the bat. Or have one-armed tied behind their back.
