Re: Week 7 R1 Reply #5 – March 15, 2025, 02:10:16 PM Hey - everyone hold on a second. I’ve been running errands today so I gave my picks to Brendt. Just saying I haven’t exactly been paying attention to the forum. But I’ve been getting some texts and messages that Vargas is on the Thunder roster. Everyone stop drafting until we can confirm eligibility. Quote Selected
Re: Week 7 R1 Reply #6 – March 15, 2025, 02:11:27 PM Auk with Motor City's #6 pick takes Josh Rojas 3B and make it a three year deal. There might be two Miguel Vargases. I think Ed took the one the White Sox traded for. Quote Selected

Re: Week 7 R1 Reply #8 – March 15, 2025, 02:44:44 PM So here's the deal.By default when players are traded in real life DMB lists partial seasons and a composite season. The reason for this is that some people (I don't know who) like to try to resim the season as it actually happened. That's why the software keeps track of transaction dates and such. Of course we're (and every other league I know) aren't doing that.So there's an option to delete the partial seasons, which we do every year as soon as the database is migrated. That way there isn't any confusion with player profiles for the partials. The problem with Vargas is the partial season (71 AB for the Dodgers) is the profile assigned to the Thunder. Since the player profile for the partial season is assigned to a roster when we ran the database cleanup it didn't delete. So now there's two profiles for Vargas - the partial on the Thunder roster and the "composite" profile that is listed as a FA.Believe me, I looked at Vargas too. So I knew for a fact he was listed as a FA. I assumed Kyle had waived him at some point. So when I started getting messages that Vargas was on a roster I wasn't sure what was going on. That's why I stopped the draft.I'm in process of fixing the database. I'll assign the correct Vargas profile to the Thunder and delete the partial. Re: Week 7 R1 Reply #9 – March 15, 2025, 02:54:49 PM So that’s the WHAT happened. And WHY I guess. And maybe HOW. You get the point. Please hold off the drafting until a ruling is made on a go forward. Quote Selected
Re: Week 7 R1 Reply #10 – March 15, 2025, 03:25:16 PM I say - based on your above post - Ed shouldn’t be penalized and be given the benefit of the doubt that if he had any of the guys on a list after his pick, he should be allowed to take them. If he didn’t have those guys on his list, he just jumps in and makes a pick and we continue. Quote Selected
Re: Week 7 R1 Reply #11 – March 15, 2025, 03:28:56 PM Says the guy who didn’t realize Vargas was short 150 or so AB’s on his roster. Ha ha Quote Selected 1 Likes
Re: Week 7 R1 Reply #12 – March 15, 2025, 03:59:35 PM Just giving you a hard time. This is a pretty obscure thing. Especially for a guy like Vargas who I assume isn’t one of the guys you were counting on being a key contributor this season. It’s all good. But it does raise a fair point. We try our best not to make mistakes. But they do happen. Please everyone double-check us. In both the database and salary file. Quote Selected 2 Likes
Re: Week 7 R1 Reply #13 – March 15, 2025, 04:04:54 PM We’re going to restart the draft from the top. This was an issue with the database so the picks that were made after Ed are void, pending a repick by the Rattlers. Quote Selected 1 Likes

In both the database and salary file. yeah, I followed Miguel all season long hoping he’d pick it up when he got regular playing time in Chicago. But it’s the south side, so he was pretty bummed to go from the Blue to the worst team in the league. That said, I have all his stats on my own excel sheet, and he didn’t hit the Mendoza line, so I never moved him off my farm team thus didn’t even LOOK at his DMB stats. Quote Selected
