Re: Rattlers

After doing some checking on the Cade Smith situation, the CO has come to a consensus.
There are two Cade Smith's in baseball; a reliever for Cleveland and a starting pitcher at the A level in the Yankees system. The Cade Smith in question here is the starter in the Yankees farm system (not LAD). He was drafted by the Rattlers in the 5th round in last year's MiL draft. This Cade Smith WILL be processed through the waiver system. We have decided to allow for Dan and I to rescind our claims now that we are all aware of who this Cade Smith is.
This also brings up a sticky situation with the "other" Cade Smith, the stud reliever for Cleveland. While Ed DID correctly identify the Cade Smith he was selecting in last season's MiL draft (the NYY farmhand), the CO mistakenly added the wrong Cade Smith (Cleveland reliever) to his roster spreadsheet and in the database. That led to the reliever Cade Smith not being "available" in free agency this past winter. Therefore he is presently a free agent. However, as there is no fair way to award him to any team as an in season free agent signing, the CO has decided that he will not be eligible for an in season signing this season.
Hope that is all clear. Please reach out if you have any questions.
