David asked for an EPIC round of the GIG. You be the judge...

1) Matchups: Most of our sets are 4-game matchups now, with the new balanced schedule. However, we can put our "imagination caps" on, and pretend the very next 3 games to be played on the schedule are 3-game sets, since the first game of each matchup was played on May 31. In other words, 3 more games are scheduled for all of us against our May 31 opponent. So predict the winner of the "3-game series" played June 1-3. Get it? Correct predictions = 2 points each. Pick a sweep (of the June 1-3 games) and get 5 points, but if it's not a sweep, you get nada.

2) If the season were to end today, a playoff spot stands at 29 wins. There is a 2-way tie at 29. And there are SEVEN - yes, SEVEN OTHER teams with 25+ wins, all within 4 or less games of a playoff spot. That means 15 out of 20 teams are still in this after 1/3 of the season has past. And 2 others probably haven't given up the ghost, just 6 and 7 games back with 99 games left to play. Well done, MSB competitors!
Question: Besides the top 8, How many teams will still be within 4 games of a playoff spot after June's games are run (ties count)? Nail it = 5 points. Within one = 2 points.
Answer: 6

3) The Rum Runners have the best offense in MSB (measured by runs scored), currently at 291 runs after just 53 games. That's 5.5 runs per game. Not the '27 Yankees, but the next best team is the Brewers, 29 runs behind. We'll all play 27 games in June. If the Rum Runners average 5.5 runs per game, they'll be at 439.5.
a) Take the over/under on 439.5. 2 points UNDER (358)
b) Will ANY other offense take the runs scored lead from the Runners at June's end? Yes = 5 points. No = 2 points. (YES)

4) The Auk have the best pitching staff (175 runs given up) by 2 runs over the Kraken. The Auk and Kraken are "Tier 1." Three other teams are also under 200 (Wolves: 185, Dogs: 187, and Brewers: 190). We'll call them Tier 2. And all others are above 200, whom we'll call Tier 3.
a) Pick a Tier that will lead all of MSB in pitching at the end of June. Tier 1 = 2 points. Tier 2 = 5 points. Tier 3 = 10 points. (TIER 1)
b) Name the leading team for an extra 3 points. (AUK)
c) Predict the number of runs given up for that leading team. Nail it = 5 points. Within 5 = 2 points. (244)

a) Predict your team's season-total wins come the end of June. Nail it = 5 points. Within 2 = 2 points.
b) Predict your team's season-total Run Differential. Nail it = 5 points. Within 5 = 2 points.
c) Predict how many games out of first place you will be at the end of June (first place teams say "0"). Nail it = 5 points. Within ONE = 2 points.

6) Will the Dogs choke and lose all 27 games in June? Yes = 1000 points, and Rod has agreed to forfeit his house to all 19 of us. No = 0. Choose wisely and root for "Yes." (David, this is your cue to rig the June games.)
