Re: 2024 ASG - Frick Corner OF Reply #1 – June 25, 2025, 10:16:20 AM Would like to switch my second vote from Nimmo if possible to a write in: Brent Rooker. Listed as a DH, but he's played LF exclusively for the Brewers this season. Quote Selected

Re: 2024 ASG - Frick Corner OF Reply #3 – June 27, 2025, 11:11:10 AM I appreciate the work of running the reports, but Rooker is getting a little screwed. Leading the league in RBIs (by 12), 3rd in HR and not even sniffing the ASG because he’s not possibly the greatest player ever. Quote Selected 3 Likes
Re: 2024 ASG - Frick Corner OF Reply #4 – June 27, 2025, 01:30:14 PM I say we put Rooker on the AS Team and be sure he's the first pinch hitter off the bench. To balance the teams, Rod picks a guy for the KML who just barely didn't make it. Quote Selected 3 Likes

Re: 2024 ASG - Frick Corner OF Reply #6 – June 28, 2025, 06:42:03 AM If I tried to do this based on where people actually play I don’t even want to think about how long it would take to generate the reports. It was hard enough this year without the option for divisional reporting.I know exactly what you’re saying, sorry if I was being cheeky with my response earlier. But there just isn’t a feasible way to do this without a massive time commitment to look up where everyone plays. And there’s going to be a lot of examples of this - Arraez for my team is listed as a 1B but has played the entire season at 2B. I wouldn’t say he’s having a great season this year - but my guess is he’d have a better chance at making the ASG at 2B vs 1B. Although whoever voted for him I appreciate the vote! My point is this process isn’t perfect. But I think it’s the best way of doing it that won’t take forever to get the ballots out. Quote Selected 3 Likes
Re: 2024 ASG - Frick Corner OF Reply #7 – June 28, 2025, 06:50:18 AM And for the record - how I’ve always run the ASG is the starter plays for 6 innings and the reserve for every position plays the last 3. Everyone gets at least 1 AB that way. For pitchers the top SP vote getter pitches the first 2 innings and then it’s a parade of pitching changes every inning. I also include a reserve SP and RP for both teams in case it goes into extra innings. I don’t run this like a “regular” game. It’s very manual. The computer still sims the game, but I’m controlling the substitution patterns so that I’m trying to simulate the real ASG. Quote Selected 3 Likes
Re: 2024 ASG - Frick Corner OF Reply #8 – June 28, 2025, 07:03:23 AM So Rod, for GIG purposes, do we have a teams list? I haven’t checked the database to see if you’ve created one. I’ll do that. Quote Selected

I'll try to find some time to look into this soon but if I don't before next year you are welcome to remind me that I said It might be possible and I should try, ha. Quote Selected 1 Likes
