Auk Explode for 11 Runs to Even Series

🏆 **GAME OF THE DAY:** Auk Obliterate Dogs 11-1 Behind Contreras Grand Slam and 15-Hit Attack

ORACLE PARK - The Auk erupted for 11 runs on 15 hits to demolish the Dogs 11-1 at Oracle Park, evening the World Series at one game apiece in dominant fashion. Bryce Miller was outstanding on the mound for the Auk, holding the Dogs to just four hits over seven innings while striking out four to earn the victory. The Auk wasted no time taking control, exploding for five runs in the bottom of the first inning highlighted by William Contreras' towering grand slam to left field. Ozzie Albies singled home the first run, Matt Olson added an RBI single, and after Lars Nootbaar reached on an infield single to load the bases, Contreras crushed a 2-1 pitch deep into the night to put the Auk ahead 5-0 before Chris Sale could record his third out.

The onslaught continued as the Auk added six more runs between the fifth and seventh innings, turning Game 2 into a rout. Andy Pages, Albies, and Contreras led a relentless offensive attack that saw every Auk starter reach base safely. Pages finished 3-for-5 with two doubles and two runs scored, while Contreras went 3-for-3 with four RBIs and a double to go along with his grand slam. Albies contributed a sacrifice fly and a triple, driving in two runs in the dominant performance. "That's the offense we know we're capable of," said the Auk's manager after the explosive victory. "When we put the ball in play and work good at-bats like that, we're dangerous." Sale absorbed the loss for the Dogs, lasting just four innings while surrendering six earned runs. The Dogs' only run came in the fourth inning when Luis Arraez doubled and scored on a Shohei Ohtani single, but it was far too little against the Auk's offensive avalanche. Nootbaar added a solo home run in the seventh to cap the scoring, and Nick Leahy closed out the final two innings with scoreless relief to preserve the blowout.

Final: Auk 11, Dogs 1

Where were a few of those runs yesterday ?

Off to the Dog pound at Scuryville for three games.

I just noticed how the Dog's home park of Citi Field really favors RH batters especially for HRs    The Dogs have a left handed hitting dominate line-up.    Interesting dynamic.   With Sale pitching game two for the Dogs they will throw three RHSP at Citi.    I will have LHP Weathers going in game 4 at Citi.     Maybe Ozuna can hit a few over the wall at the Dog pound.

As a Mets fanboy I appreciate Cohen was willing to sell Citi Field to me (he needed the cash as he preps for the Mets 2026 free agency). So we moved the stadium from Queens to Scurvyville.

But you are correct that it is very limiting towards LHB. How many HR would Ohtani have in another park?

What?  No props to the Sea Dogs for loaning William Contreras to the Auk and MeGill to the Scurvies?
